Having previously worked in public and private sector roles, I have been practicing as a counsellor for 15+ years and as a psychotherapist in private practice for almost 10 years.
My clients come from all walks of life, different cultural backgrounds, and have ranged in age from 18 to 80. Since qualifying I’ve seen hundreds of clients for assessments, short-term, and long-term therapeutic work. I have particular expertise in working with people in higher education, be that students or academics, and have worked in the counselling services of several prestigious universities since 2017.
In my private practice I offer weekly open-ended therapy. I am genuinely interested in people’s lives, how they got to where they are at, and how we progress and develop from that point.
My main approach is psychodynamic – I’m interested in unconscious processes and how each person’s individual life experiences have shaped the way they relate, and how we relate in therapy. I’m very much interested in attachment-, neuroscience- and evolutionary psychology informed perspectives, as well as emotion regulation through self-compassion and mindfulness.
